It's a virtual button, but it's still very useful.
Here's a tip for all iPhone users who are using iOS 14 (which the data looks like most of you). With the new version of iOS, you can add a new button to your iPhone. No, it's not a real button (you won't have to poke holes in your iPhone), but a virtual button. And it's super useful.
The feature is called "Touch the back of the device," and it's one of the amazing accessibility features that Apple has built into iOS.
Go to Settings> Accessibility> Touch, then scroll to the bottom and tap “Touch back of device”. You can now create taps on the back of your iPhone.
There are a whole bunch of actions you can choose from:
• App selector
• Control center
• Home
• Lock screen
• Mute
• Notification center
• Easy access
• Screenshot
• Shake
• Siri
• Spotlight
• Lower the volume
• Turn up the volume
• AssistiveTouch
• Classic inversion
• Magnifying glass
• Smart reversal
• Read screen content
• VoiceOver
• Zoom
• Scroll down
• Scroll up
For my part, I set it to have "Easy Access" by double-tapping (I have the iPhone Pro Max, but small hands), and "Control Center" by triple-tapping. If I take a lot of screenshots, I put this function on "double tap", which saves me time.
If you find this feature useful, I recommend checking out AssistiveTouch, another accessibility feature. I have been using it for quite some time now, and it has become an essential part of my daily work.
