If the Meet tab is hindering your browsing on Android, iOS or iPadOS, here's how to get rid of it.If, like me, you use Gmail a lot, and anything that can come between you and your emails means wasted time and decreased productivity, the following may interest you.
Recently, the "Meet" tab has appeared on the Gmail apps for iOS, iPadOS, and Android. If you are using the video conferencing tool, it is handy, but if not, it can interfere with your browsing.
So here's how to remove this tab, and free up some space on your screen.
Remove the Meet tab
The procedure is the same on all mobile operating systems, whether you are on an iPhone, iPad, or an Android device:
• launch the Gmail application;
• click on the burger menu located at the top left of the application, go to the bottom then click on "Settings";
• select your Gmail account;
• Turn off the "Show Meet tab for video calls" setting.
Be careful, if you use several accounts, you will have to repeat the operation for each account. There you go, no more unnecessary tabs! And if you need it again, you know how to get it back - just redo the process in the other direction.
